Shipping and Returns
WHERE ARE PRODUCTS SHIPPED FROM?
All of our products are shipped from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. We have a post office quite close to our location, so we drop off packages as soon as they are processed (as opposed to shops in smaller cities that would drop off packages once a week).
WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We ship to all locations in the world, unless there are legal reasons why we cannot ship somewhere (but at this point we have no come across these kinds of issues).
DO YOU USE DROPSHIPPING?
No, we do not use dropshipping. All products are ordered prior to being posted on the website, so all items will arrive in The Geekery packaging and all items will be in stock at the time of purchase.
HOW LONG UNTIL MY PACKAGE ARRIVES?
It all depends on where you are located. Shipping takes between 1-4 weeks for most locations, but it does depend on the accuracy and reliability of your local post offices. Below is a table for the approximate shipping times based on our post office information and our experiences.

HOW IS MY SHIPPING COST CALCULATED?
The Geekery calculates shipping using Canada Post "Find a Rate" based on the location the package is leaving from, the location is it going to, the size, and the weight of the package. In some instances, such as jewelry, the items are small enough that they can be sent by Letter Rate (which is cheaper, fairly fast, but does not offer tracking). We charge a small surcharge on top of the calculated shipping rates ($3-5) to factor in packaging costs, travel to take packages to the post office. We do not make money off of shipping charges, and if there is a major discrepancy in shipping (for example the box ended up fitting into a lower category) we will always refund the difference.
CAN I COMBINE ITEMS TO GET A LOWER SHIPPING CHARGE?
Yes! If you are planning on multiple purchases, we can put them into the same box to make sure the shipping charges are the lowest they can be. Often shipping charges will go to a maximum weight and then start in the next tier, so there is a lot of wiggle room in the packaging of products to maximize savings. We know that no one likes paying high shipping charges, so we do our very best not to have to charge them. Remember, we don't make any money on shipping - but we do want to make sure your items arrive.
MY (PERSON'S) (EVENT) IS COMING UP - CAN I UPGRADE SHIPPING TO GET IT FASTER?
Absolutely, we are always willing to upgrade shipping as long as you are willing to pay the difference in cost. It can be expensive to upgrade shipping depending on the location, but in some cases it isn't that large of a difference so it is worthwhile.
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. Refunds are only on the purchase price (shipping charges cannot be refunded). To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.
Additional non-returnable items:
- Gift cards
- Downloadable software products
- Some health and personal care items
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
- Book with obvious signs of use
- CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened.
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at email@example.com.
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and send your item to: 6052 Clarence Way, Nanaimo, BC, V9V1R7, Canada.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
To return your product, you should mail your product to: 6052 Clarence Way, Nanaimo, BC, V9V1R7, Canada. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. If you are shipping an item over $30, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item
